Chapter 08: The Luxe

Tiffany quietly followed Nichkhun to a coffee house nearby campus, they took a seat and Nichkhun finally spoke.

‘Look up Tiffany, I’m not going to do anything to you.’

Tiffany refused to talk to him, totally ignoring what Nichkhun had said and looked out of the window at the meadows. 

‘You can’t runaway from the fact that I discovered some part of your secret that you are not willing to share.’

Still silence. Nichkhun started to get really irritated. 

‘Okay, fine. You want to do it this way? Sure. I’ll just make up a story about you earning money by offering sex and make that a reason to why you have all those branded goods.’ 

Tiffany finally turned her head and shot Nichkhun a death glare. She picked up and sipped a little water from the glass in front of her. She started talking.

‘Okay Nichkhun. Shut your stupid trap, you don’t know a single thing about me. You know my name, not my story.’ Tiffany blurted out furiously. 

Nichkhun was slightly taken aback by the sudden change of personality. He never knew Tiffany had a side like that. But then again, he never knew much about Tiffany. He swallowed the nervousness at his throat.

‘That’s the point! I don’t know about you and you’re not willing to tell me! You’re killing me Tiffany. Just tell me please?’ 

Tiffany hesitated for a moment then stood up. She threw a 100 dollar bill on the table.

‘Maybe I will. When I feel like it. When the time is right.’

Tiffany grabbed her bag and stormed out of the coffee house with her head held high.

Following Sunday Afternoon 

Tiffany’s cellphone rang.

‘Hello? Who is this?’

‘The Luxe, tonight 7:30 dress formal.’ A husky low voice came from the other end. The phone cut off. 

Tiffany stared really hard at the phone number on the caller id. It struck her. Crap. She knew who the caller is. She was in deep shit.

She made a few phone calls and then changed into something decent and ran out of her dorm. 

What was going on?
